2008 NPC BSN Emerald Cup
Figure - Over 5'3" to 5'4"
After an impressive debut at last year's Washington Ironman, Brandy Carestia
worked on improving her look...and that she did. She is part of Montana's 'PhyZique
Fitness' group led by National level competitor Kim Agnew. A bit about Brandy, her
passion for fitness began with the practice of Tae Kwon Do at the age of 10, earning
her black belt by 15. With business administration and law degrees this well rounded
competitor works as both an attorney-mediator and as a certified fitness trainer, owning
'Define by Design Fitness Training'. She can be contacted for that at
definebydesign@live.com .
While in college, Brandy discovered the weight
room, always trying to stay in good physical condition and admired competitors such
as Monica Brandt even before figure became a sport. But it wasn't until the past year
or so that she met several people involved in the sport who gave her the knowledge,
confidence and support to set foot on stage. That first competition in the fall of
2007 has fueled her desire to go as far as she can both on stage as well as in sharing
her passion for health and fitness with others. Through training, competing and fitness
modeling, Brandy hopes to inspire others to improve their health and fitness. As for
her great calves, Brandy admits to genetics for part of it, but bouncing on the balls
of her feet doing/teaching Tae Kwon Do and kickboxing has certainly helped...she doesn't
have to work them very hard with weights :) Brandy also gets my award for the best
spinerama move walking out on stage! She place 8th here, but not one to miss an opportunity, she competed the
following week, refining her look (and a new suit) at the Empire Classic and won her class!!
