Pro Women's Physique Division
Coming out of the 2018 IFBB Toronto Pro Show, there was "unfinished business" for a trio of Canadian athletes. Eleonora Dobrinina has tasted what it's like to be at the Olympia and a second place finish in Toronto to Brazil's Daniely Castilho meant additional shows to secure a win and (to be on the safe side) accumulate placing points along the way. A 2nd Place here, but we have every confidence in Eleonora to make it to the Olympia, much more battle tested this time! Georgina D'Abreo is new to the Pro ranks but an impressive 3rd Place in Toronto put everyone on notice, placed 4th here. Then there's Alyssa Coppolino, a perfect record of Amateur Overall wins in Women's Physique since we first photographed her onstage (and offstage) at the 2016 BCABBA Northern Classic up in Fort St. John! Exceptional proportionality for the sport on a nicely detailed physique propelled her from a 4th Place in Toronto to top spot here in front of her home crowd! Then....throw the spitfire Jodi Boam (last year's winner) into the mix and you have the recipe for a showdown for the ages. Oh, but it gets better...claiming 5th in the best shape of her life was Tacoma's Vanessa Naesheim, a gym owner and someone who we've had the pleasure of knowing and photographing since her first photoshoot in 2010! Other Northwest/Alaska athletes were Hanna Hartman, Clarissa Rafanan and Cinzia Massaro Clapp. Nathalee Thompson and CeaAnna Kerr rounded out the Canadian contingent. New friend Lenka Ferencukova of the Czech Republic (thanks Allison Ethier for the introduction) returned to Europe to win the IFBB Portugal Pro the following weekend to secure her trip to the Olympia. With such a busy weekend as official photographer, we don't always get a chance to meet and greet all the athletes. We fondly remember Korea's Mihyun Jung captivating the audience at this show two years ago and while she didn't place as highly this time, her graceful presentation onstage did not diminish in the least!
A note regarding most of these photos, our primary responsibility at this show was to furnish hi-res quality images for the athletes should they choose to sign-up for them. Whether they had or not, the watermarks across the photos are so THEY will have as much exclusivity as possible to use the pristine versions of their photos for their own purposes. For photo sales to athletes from both the Pro and Amateur events, please email david@twixpix.com for more information, the only source for hi-resolution photos at this show.
