2017 Leigh Brandt Muscle Classic
Bodybuilding, Physique, Fitness, Figure & Bikini Championships
(New Westminster, B.C. - Mar. 18, 2017)
Long time BCABBA Promoters Dean and Leigh Brandt were back with the Third Annual Leigh Brandt Muscle Classic.
Run with precision as usual, it comes after a year where the duo hosted the CBBF Nationals back in August.
While there were some small classes at this show, some quality physiques definitely made an impression.
Potential galore in Women's Physique in Marilyn Ciccone for starters...

Figure had a few surprises. From this reporter's perspective, it was nice to see Pamela Bartock make a return
to competition after a decade or so...took the Master's Overall title. Open Overall was won by the very
shapely Taylor Jmaeff.

Bikini had a few really strong contenders for that Overall Title, but Melissa Olson was a cut above in
being ready (this time around) to compete very well at the next level.

Bodybuilding saw some great physiques, Jeff McGiveron winning Open Heavyweight and Overall. Of note was the Light Heavyweight
class with two top notch competitors. See below.

Men's Physique is always a popular category, William Faucher taking Overalls. Classic Physique
gave us the 'Best Poser Award' in Overall winner Tai Newsome.

In closing, the show had around 130 competitors, but did feature competitors who will make
an impact in the future.
This was a novice show, which qualifies for the BC Provincials to be held in July in Vancouver.
